CELA and Durham Nuclear Awareness Written Intervention to CNSC for OPG’s site licence renewal at Darlington

Bait-and-switch: CELA and DNA are intervening before the CNSC arguing OPG’s request for a licence renewal of its Darlington site is a licence to site one of Canada’s first ever  Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in Durham Region. If the CNSC approves OPG’s application for a ten-year licence, it will effectively be providing de facto approval of SMRs in Ontario without the public’s knowledge and participation.
