Maneka Kaur is CELA’s articling student for 2021-2022.
Maneka is an environmental lawyer, originally from India, with over 6 years of experience in litigation and research. Academically, she is associated with Indraprastha University, Delhi, India (B.A.LL.B.), University of Oregon, USA (Masters in Environment and Natural Resources Law); and, American University, Washington College of Law, USA (Summer Course on Environmental Law and International Institutions).
Prior to joining CELA, she had the fortune of working with various not for profit legal firms specializing in environmental law like International Rivers (Berkeley, California); Earthjustice (San Francisco, California); Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment (Delhi, India); and, Wildlife Conservation Society (Bangalore, India). She is also a contributory member of the IUCN-WCEL group and has published a chapter on “Municipal Solid Waste Management in India” in the book titled “Charting Environmental Law Futures in the Anthropocene.”
