Coalition Supports Expansion of Free Cooling Program for Eligible Low-Income Tenants

CELA, Environment Hamilton, Hamilton ACORN, Hamilton Community Legal Clinic wrote to the City of Hamilton to support the expansion of an existing program to distribute free air conditioners to eligible individuals at risk of serious health impacts from heat.

Joint Statement: Actions Needed to Protect Toronto Tenants from Extreme Heat

Toronto Heat Safety released a joint statement calling on the City of Toronto to implement a maximum temperature by-law of 26 degrees C in all rental units. The climate crisis is unfair and heat is a serious public health crisis.
