Upcoming Ontario Energy Board regional meetings
The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is currently implementing the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), which is scheduled to start in January 2016. CELA has an extensive collection of materials related to energy conservation and affordable electricity pricing in Ontario. The collection includes detailed reports, responses to consultation and media releases on energy conservation and ensuring the basic energy self-sufficiency of low income residents of Ontario.
BLOG: Governments failing to protect the Great Lakes
John Jackson from Great Lakes United and CELA’s Anne Wordsworth contributed a blog post pointing out government inaction on the revised Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. For over 40 million people who rely on the lakes, reducing pollution of the Great Lakes is essential. Unfortunately, the Canadian and U.S. governments are not taking adequate action despite the fact that the Great Lakes remain under siege from an overwhelming number of polluting sources.
