A member of the Sudbury, Espanola, Manitoulin, Elliot Lake (SEMEL) Ontario Health Team (OHT) as a person with lived experience, she participates not only in policy setting, regional supports and strategic planning, but also on the Palliative Care Table and the North East OHT Collaborative. Within those roles, she has met with representative of Ontario Health as a voice of the patient and their families. Jennifer is also a former Board Member of St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake, and was a member of the executive of the Elliot Lake Women’s Group, which operates the shelter Maplegate House for Women and opened the non-government funded Larry’s Place for men (now, Larry’s Place – Fresh Start) for 6 years.
