Submission: CELA Response to Proposed Plan of Priorities

CELA submitted comments in response to a federal consultation on the Proposed Plan of Priorities for assessment of chemicals under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA). The Proposed Plan of Priorities outlines chemicals listed for assessment and management of those chemicals that meet the criteria for toxic under section 64 of CEPA and sets out a timeline to undertake this work. Currently there are 30 substances or groups of chemicals identified on the list of priorities including pharmaceuticals, fluoropolymers, nanoscale sliver, nanoscale forms of zinc oxide, nanoscale forms of nickel oxide and nanoscale forms of titanium oxide The Plan of Priorities should be finalized by June 2025.
