Ontario has fast-tracked Bill 17, which proposes to restrict the information and reports that are available to municipalities making development decisions and to require that reports prepared by a prescribed professional are automatically accepted as part of a complete application. CELA opposes those amendments and recommends ensuring that municipalities are provided with the tools they need to address climate change and build resilient and energy efficient infrastructure.
