CELA submitted comments on Ontario’s proposals to revoke the Class Environmental Assessment for Ministry of Natural Resources resource stewardship and facility development projects and replace it with a Project Evaluation Policy. CELA recommends that any replacement framework maintain environmental oversight, transparency, accountability, meaningful public participation, and mechanisms to address unresolved environmental and Aboriginal or treaty rights concerns.
