Environmental Assessment is Not Red Tape – A Primer on Recent Changes in Ontario

The provincial government has made sweeping changes to environmental assessment (EA) law in Ontario, ending long-standing public safeguards designed to protect the environment and our health. These changes have serious and alarming impacts for Ontarians: not only do they restrict the applicability of EA processes to new projects and developments, but they also increase uncertainty about how new projects will be reviewed.

This webinar, originally recorded on October 22, 2020, provided an overview of the key changes, discussed the proposed EA project list regulation posted on the EBR Registry for public comment, and advised participants what they could do to push back against these reforms.
