Further submissions on Bill 23 – More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022

CELA has submitted comments on Bill 23, More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 Schedules 1, 2, 4, 7 and 9 (Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO) numbers 019-6163 and 019-6141, and Ontario Regulatory Registry (ORR) number 22-MAG011). Included is our written submission to the Standing Committee on Heritage, Infrastructure and Cultural Policy, which outlines the following four areas of concern:

1. The need for climate-safe communities;
2. The need to preserve the essential roles of conservation authorities and upper tier municipalities in protecting water and natural heritage;
3. The need for robust community engagement;
4. The need for affordable, equitable quality housing supply.
