This memorandum provides legal information on an international human rights-based approach to climate resilience in rental housing. In the context of the right to adequate housing, climate resiliency in rental housing is discussed at the international level. The right has also been incorporated into Canadian law in the National Housing Strategy Act. There is support for advancing an argument that the climate resiliency issues affecting low-income rental housing are human rights issues.
