Radon in Indoor Air: A Review of Policy and Law in Canada

Erratum – Please note that summary information about the Ontario Building Code contained in the table on page 36-37 of this report has been corrected in the file linked below. The Table in the November 2014 version of this report incorrectly states that the Ontario Building Code applies radon protection provisions across the province. The previous and corrected text is as follows:

Previous text (column three, concerning the Ontario Building Code):
Does not adopt the model NBC but considerable harmonization including the adoption of the federal Radon Guideline reference level of 200 Bq/m3 in three regions known to have high radon levels. Other radon protection provisions apply across Ontario.

Correction (column three, concerning the Ontario Building Code):
Does not adopt the model NBC. Incorporates the federal Radon Guideline reference level of 200 Bq/m3 in three regions known to have high radon levels. Incorporates radon protection provisions for these three regions in a supplementary standard.

Details about the Ontario Building Code in the report appendices 1 and 2 remain correct.
