Submission: CELA response to proposed updates to Schedule I.3 of the Contraventions Regulations

Certain offences under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act can be considered contraventions under the Act. Enforcement officers can issue tickets for these contraventions. The federal government proposes updating Schedule I.3 of the Contraventions Regulations to identify which CEPA offences will be covered by those regulations.3 of the Contravention Regulations to identify those offences under CEPA to be covered by the Contravention Regulations. The proposed update covers non compliance activities under the National Pollutants Release Inventory. The fine for offences in contravention to CEPA and its regulations is set at $1000. CELA responded to the proposed updates to Schedule I.3 of the Contravention Regulations.
