Cameco Corporation Application to Renew Uranium Mill Licence of Key Lake and McArthur River Operations

CELA, with other groups, has submitted an intervention in response to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission’s Notice of Public Hearing dated September 20, 2022 requesting comments on the application by Cameco Corporation to renew its licences for the Key Lake and McArthur River Operations for a period of 20 years.

Comments on NB Power’s Request for 25-Year Nuclear Operating Licence

The licence for a nuclear plant on the Bay of Fundy is set to expire and the operator, NB Power, is asking for an unprecedented 25-year licence renewal. The Coalition for Responsible Energy Development in New Brunswick (CRED-NB) and CELA submitted a joint intervention to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission opposing the licence request.The hearing will occur on May 11 and 12, 2022 and the public is invited to watch.
