Law Reform and Initiatives

Law reform ensures that environmental laws and legal systems are actually working. It may involve identifying gaps, responding to emerging issues, or advocating for more effective enforcement and implementation.

For example, CELA helped establish Ontario’s Environmental Bill of Rights.

Activities:

  • Researching, writing, and publishing reports and submissions
  • Participating in expert networks
  • Convening meetings, discussions, or working groups
